I Bid You A Most Anxious Adieu

I could write a post about how horrible 2012 has been to me and my immediate family. Oh the stuff I could tell you about how our lives have been riding on a Friday-the-13th-like-existence since February straight through to the now impending fiscal cliff. Yeah, it’s been that bad. From a loss of one kind to another loss of a different kind to yet another loss and all the mental anguish to go with it, our family has been through it.

And even as I write this, not knowing what the future holds, I’m trying to look on the bright side. I know it seems impossible but the next year has to be better than this one, doesn’t it? There is no way we could survive another year-long downward spiral. There has to be an upside to all of this.

And yet, every day I’ll read a story of someone else’s Continue reading

Besides, I Know You’re Santa Claus Anyways

“Besides, I know you’re Santa Claus anyways.” I froze, my heart dropped and knots wreaked havoc on my stomach as those words fell from my son’s lips. O.M.G. The holiday moment I had most feared had finally come true.

My husband and I had been discussing my son’s possible waning belief in Old St. Nick since he was rounding the corner to the age of ten. According to my husband, he already knew at that age how the stockings got stuffed and where the gifts magically appeared from. He insisted it was just a matter of time before my baby boy no longer lit up when mentioning the jolly old guy in the red suit.

The Next Big Thing

Demetria Foster Gray over at Shaken But Not Stirred has tagged me for The Next Big Thing blog hop in which you answer a set of questions about your WIP presumably with the thought it may be “The Next Big Thing”. I was honored that she thought enough to include me.

My WIP and I have been having a rough time lately, so I took a very long sigh before tackling the questions. So here goes

1. What is the working title of your book?

Ok, I really don’t have a working title yet. I usually don’t attempt a title until I’ve finished the first draft of whatever I’m working on.

2. Where did the idea come from for the book?

I’ve always been intrigued by love triangles. How do they happen? Can you really love more than one person at the same time? And what happens when those relationships falter?

3. What genre does your book fall under?

Contemporary Romance

4. Which actors would you choose to play your characters in a movie rendition?

For the female MC, Cree St. John, I would say Kat Graham would best represent her. No male actors come to mind for my two male MCs but I did find two models who embody what I envision them to look like. The male lead, Gabriel Rawlings, looks similar to model, Keston Karter. Male model, Moneon Warren, would be a sexy fit to play the other male MC, Dazz Henderson.

5. What is the one-sentence synopsis of your book?

“Eternal Tryst”

The first time I saw
You walk in, all else
Fell away from the room,
From this world.
I felt captivated and hopelessly meek.

Passion filled embraces followed
By erotically laced nights, and all else
Existed recklessly without regard,
Without devout caution.
We were mindlessly immersed in heat.

When you captured me into
Your sensual being, all else
Fell into place within my heart,
Within this realm.
I felt blissfully and willingly weak.

Our love affair conquered
Time's endless tests, and all else
Were insignificant obstacles,
Unwavering stumbles.
We were breathlessly complete.
